In its quest for a larger Old Town location, Chase’s is looking for economic assistance from the City of La Verne.

LA VERNE, October 16, 2017 — Chase’s Restaurant in downtown La Verne is seeking economic assistance from the City of La Verne to facilitate moving into a larger Old Town location.

The matter will be taken up at the Monday, Oct. 16, 2017 La Verne City Council meeting, which begins at 6:30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public.

Here is how the request for economic assistance appears in tonight’s agenda:

Economic Assistance Agreement with Chase’s Restaurant – Chase’s Restaurant originally opened in 2010. Since that time, it has grown in popularity and has become a key part of the restaurant sales growth the Old Town area has experienced in the last six years. Recently, staff has become aware that the owners are interested in expanding and moving to another location in Old Town. As part of that expansion, they are seeking City assistance with costs associated with that move and expansion. The following agreement would allow the City to provide a loan to facilitate their move with a formula for reimbursement on a sliding scale based on the increases of revenue from sales tax.

Staff Recommendation: The City Council should approve Resolution 17-74, executing an Economic Assistance agreement with Chase’s Restaurant, LLC and authorize the City Manager to sign said agreement.

La Verne City Hall is located at 3660 D Street.
