Basketball camps are in full swing at Citrus College, with three summer sessions still available for local youngsters age 6 through 14.

Remaining dates are: Session Three, July 6 through July 10, Session Four, July 13 through July 17, and Session Five, July 20 through July 24.

Each session will be held Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Early drop off at 8 a.m. and late pick up at 3 p.m. is available for no extra fee.

“Our teaching emphasis is bigger than basketball,” said Rick Croy, Citrus College’s head basketball coach.“Our energetic staff will give detailed attention to individuals in the areas of ball handling, passing, dribbling, footwork, defense, and rebounding. Campers will also learn the keys to shooting in a competitive enthusiastic environment.”

Croy, who led the Citrus College men’s basketball team to a California State Title and 35-1 record in 2008, says that the camp’s coaches and counselors were selected because of their knowledge and love for basketball.

“The staff will be made up of former and current college players who have a proven ability to effectively teach the game,” he said. “You will not find a group of coaches and counselors more dedicated and enthusiastic about improving your child’s basketball skills.”

The cost of each session is $150.  Space is limited, so interested parties are encouraged to register as soon as possible. A $25 non-refundable deposit is required at time of registration, with the balance to be paid on the first day of camp.
