ayso-monsters2If the U.S. Postal Service ever needs any help in delivering the mail, it would be wise to call on the La Verne/San Dimas Region 112 u10 boys AYSO all-star team. Through rain and mud, the all-weather performers swept their January 26-27 regional tournament to advance to the sectionals in Riverside, March 2-3.

Over the two-day tournament, the Monsters, as their known, defeated Hacienda Heights, 4-0; Covina, 1-0; Rowland Heights, 5-1; and Walnut, 1-0.

Amazingly, the boys surrendered just one goal in the four contests while scoring 12.

The Monsters are the only LVSD AYSO team to advance to the section tournament.

Play had been scheduled for La Verne, but when the rains came, the competition shifted to Schabarum Park in Rowland Heights. Losing their home field advantage didn’t affect the young team in the least, however.

The victorious players are Michael Arambula, Tyler Crowell, Garrett Richie, Alex Alspaugh, Mike Manougian, Logan Corthell, Kaden Martin, Parker Anderson, Steven Cox andn Tyler Zayas. The team is coached by head coach Kris Martin and assistant coach Dann Zayas.
