Thanksgiving Spirit Alive and Well in La Verne

Vicki Brown, Sowing Seeds' inspirational, pulled into the parking lot at DPI Labs with a loaded truck of turkeys and trimming's for today's annual pantry that begins at noon in La Verne.

Sowing Seeds for Life, a nonprofit charity providing food and services to the needy throughout the East San Gabriel Valley, along with Christ Church of the Valley of San Dimas, will provide hot turkey dinners to disadvantaged families at noon today at 1350 Arrow Highway.

The Corner Butcher Shop in La Verne is also your local headquarters for Shelton turkeys and all the trimmings. Butcher boys John and Will will keep the shop open until noon on Thanksgiving day. Homemade sides include cornbread stuffing with Andouille, green bean casserole, cranberry chutney, homestyle gravy, mashed potatoes and sweet potato casserole.
