Pooling together at the right time, Bonita faces La Serna this Wednesday at 7:30 in the Mt. SAC swimming center. Hold on to your caps!

Fill up the gas tank and stock up on the TV dinners, because this Wednesday night instead of cooking, you’re heading to Mt. San Antonio College to watch the Bonita Bearcats play La Serna in a semi-finals water polo match.

Last season, Bonita fell to La Serna 9-8 in the finals, so this game is already taking on epic, tsunami-like significance.

Bonita qualified for the grudge match on the basis of its 11-5 win over Chadwick on Saturday at Mira Costa High School. Leading Bonita (20-10) was Keaton Renta with four goals, three steals and a block.

Kevin “Wing Man” Webb chipped in with two goals, four assists and two steals.

Defensively, goalie Caleb Guarino notched 11 saves, two steals and three assists.

Game time is 7:30 p.m.
