La Verne Heights teacher Kathy Beauchamp’s first grade buckaroos got all the fixins and more for registering a chart-topping score in reading comprehension.
At noon, her bookworms lined up for pulled pork barbecue sandwiches and fries from the Go Country 105 FM Chuck Wagon, which rolled into the school’s parking lot a little after high noon to reward the voracious (look that word up, young bibliophiles) readers, whose favorite books include “The Magic Tree House” and “Junie B. Jones.”
While there were no sightings of Carrie Underwood or Lady Antebellum, La Verne’s little country cowpokes didn’t seem to mind.
