Brown Magic: Top row from left: Jessica Upole, Mia Esqueda, Sophia Prager, Maggie Johnson and Emilyn Thorp (in front on bench), along with Nalley Mongue and Gracie Francouer (not pictured), collected canned foods from their neighborhood to make five gorgeous food baskets to present to local families in need.

When you need a big job completed, call in the Brownies. And if so happens that Girl Scout Brownie troop 3044 from Grace Miller Elementary School answers the call, all the better.

That’s the troop where Mia Esqueda, Gracie Francouer, Maggie Johnson, Nalley Mongue, Sophia Prager, Emilyn Thorp and Jessica Upole reside.

To ensure that more families would enjoy the recent Thanksgiving holiday, the girls collected canned foods from their local neighborhood to make five large, beautiful Thanksgiving baskets and present to five families in need.

“The girls worked really hard, and created a personal card for each basket as well,” said parent Julie Prager, who leads the troop along with Ana Esqueda.

Bravo to the Brownies for spreading a little more cheer around town!
