Independence Day Celebrated La Verne Style

Here are some early- and mid-morning photos showing the unique way La Verne celebrates the 4th of July. Independence Day — La Verne style — was an all-day celebration, including a pancake breakfast, country fair, Harley ride, deep-pit barbecue and fireworks show.

It was an overload of the senses with babies, Bearcats, hogs, horses, Smokey, all-star softball players, baseball players, cheerleaders, classic cars, churches on wheels, councilmembers, a mayor, an ex-mayor, a Congressman and La Verne’s usual cast of colorful characters making their way down the parade route.
