I bought a framed print at auction about 15 yrs ago. It appears to be a very old print of an ink drawing, black and white, of two cavaliers, one definitely in his cups, the other standing. The print is signed F. Roybet in the lower left corner with the date 1883, beneath it in tiny print is copyright 1888. On the lower right corner is another signature, V. Courtin.
The frame is very old, the backing is wood veneer held in by tiny straight nails.
I’m curious to know more about it, but so far can only find sketchy information about F. Roybet, nothing about V. Courtin, and nothing about prints at all.
Thank you in advance
