Team 911 dialed up its play on Saturday.

If anybody wants to see a great softball team play in La Verne, simply call 911. That’s the name of the 12U girls’ softball team, which this last Saturday swept a tough Get Some squad in a day doubleheader in La Verne.

After winning the first game, 7-4, Team 911 came from behind to win the nightcap 8-6, scoring six runs in the top of the fourth. It was a wild fourth inning featuring a booming double by winning pitcher Jasmine and singles by Kayla, Michelle, McKenzie, Cierra and Lexie. In the inning, both JoJo and Emily were hit by pitches.

Cierra started the game inside the circle for the victors before being relieved by Jasmine in the late going.

911 also flashed some great defense, especially when Michelle ranged far to her right to spear a hot line drive headed for centerfield.

The two teams have played many times before, so expect Get Some to get some revenge the next time they meet.
