Grace Miller students appeared confident that Santa would make good on their Christmas wishes.

On Thursday night, Dec. 16, the Grace Miller PTA hosted its third annual “Santa and Pajamas” program in the school cafeteria. Children, accompanied by family and friends, came dressed in their pajamas with blankets in tow to hear Santa read the classic “‘Twas The Night Before Christmas.” Santa’s helpers also served cookies and hot chocolate.

Afterwards, children had their pictures taken with the jolly and smiling St. Nick.

“What sets this event apart,” said Julie Harris, Grace Miller PTA President, “is the spirit of giving back to the Grace Miller families. Not only did the children get to ask Santa for the things they wanted for Christmas, but they also brought in food items and gift cards to contribute to the needs of families.”

More than 500 items were collected and five families were each given two gift baskets of food, along with a gift card to the local grocery store for additional items. Each child in the home also received a special gift – a book to read at the studen’s reading level.
