ATTENTION ALL TARGET SHOPPERS: NATIONAL NIGHT OUT SET FOR AUG. 3

mcgruff3The La Verne Police Department and Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol will host the city’s National Night Out program from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, August 3rd, in the Target Shopping Center on Foothill Boulevard between White Avenue and Town Center Drive.

National Night Out was established to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in the quest for a safe community. The police department’s ability to keep crime down is augmented by volunteers, neighborhood and business watch groups. National Night Out has proven to be an effective, inexpensive, and enjoyable program for communities across the nation.

La Verne’s National Night Out event is free to the community and will feature activities, games and food. Additionally, Live Scan fingerprinting and photo identifications of children are offered for parents’ records. There will be live demonstrations, police vehicles, equipment, and safety exhibits as well as officers from the special weapons and tactics team and other specialized units to talk with residents. Raffle prizes will be given throughout the evening.

So please mark you calendars and join the police department in a National Night Out against crime.
