The Bonita Bearcats breezed to a 13-0 victory over the Wilson Wildcats on Tuesday, extending the Bearcats’ overall record to 16-4-1 and 9-2 in league. It was the pitching staff’s fifth shutout of the year.
Starting pitcher Josh Yepez nailed down the complete game shutout, surrendering only a single in the first inning and another in the sixth. He was in command from start to finish.
Meanwhile, on offense, the Bearcats were relentless, scoring in every inning. Evan Highley led the hit parade with three singles. Brian Tuttle knocked in three RBIs.
Bonita hits the road on the Thursday to face Wilson again. Next week, the Bearcats wrap up the regular season against Walnut.
