In Loving Memory of Peter Kuzmickas (1950 – 2010)

Peter Kuzmickas

Peter K. Kuzmickas, 59, was born April 10, 1950, in Chicago, Illinois. He is the son of Simas and Stefa and brother to Milda, Stanley, George and Maryann.

Peter married Candice Horn on December 14, 1974 before moving from Illinois to San Dimas, California to start a family. They resided in San Dimas for seven years and then moved to La Verne.

He is the father of Sarah (John) Barr, Patrick (Stephanie) and Paul (Lianne) and grandfather to Madison, Megan and a new grandson.

An accountant for 36 years for several local companies, Peter was just as busy outside of work. He was an active member of the Holy Name of Mary community, volunteering with both the Church and school, where his wife Candice is principal. Peter could always be seen on campus, helping in every way possible from fixing and setting things up to greeting people with his easy, welcoming smile. Sarah, Patrick and Paul are all HNM graduates and strong supporters of their school as well.

Peter also was active in the Knights of Columbus and was Troop Master of Boy Scout Troop 423. An avid outdoorsman, Pete loved hiking, fishing, camping and any reason to appreciate nature.

A rosary will be held at Holy Name of Mary Church (724 E. Bonita Ave, San Dimas) on Thursday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m.

A celebration of Mr. Kuzmickas’ abundant life will be held at a funeral mass, also at Holy Name of Mary Church on Friday, April 9, at noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Peter Kuzmickas Memorial Scholarship Fund at Holy Name of Mary School (124 S. San Dimas Canyon Rd, San Dimas, CA 91773). All funds will be used as scholarship monies given back to the students of Holy Name of Mary School.
