Commish Stays Close to the Action

As founder of the La Verne Land Conservancy, Michael Lopez cares about the environment and especially our local foothills here in La Verne. During the recent La Verne fire by the Marshall Canyon Golf Course, Lopez snapped this dramatic photo.

Lopez, who has lived in La Verne for 15 years, currently serves on the City’s Planning Commission, a postion to which he was appointed by former Mayor Jon Blickenstaff in 2003. He also has twice campaigned for a seat on the La Verne City Council.

Judging by his resume and photo, it’s fair to say Lopez likes to stay close to the action.
