Happy Mother’s Day: ‘What Does Mom Mean to You?’

On the 95th annual celebration of Mother’s day (the first was in 1914 for those who don’t want to do the math), we asked 14 La Verne residents, “What Does Mom Mean to You?” For a quick history on how Mother’s Day came about, please read our sidebar piece in the same Highlights section. And I almost forgot, “Happy Mother’s Day.”

Bruce Boardman: My mom means a lot. I'm No. 9 of 10 kids. So my mom was everything to us. She was a stay-at-home mom, and helped raise us all. Still alive today. We just celebrated her birthday two weeks ago. She means everything to me. She taught me everything I know about being a parent.
