After gorging yourself on candy and Halloween parties, it time to give a little something back. And there’s no better opportunity than this Friday, Nov. 2, when the Damien High School Spartans host Charter Oak at Dick Larson Stadium.
Sponsored by the Damien High School Community Service Outreach Club, volunteers will be accepting toys at the gate as part of the school’s Christmas Toy Drive. By bringing a toy, fans will also receive a discount on their admission to the game.
Club members will donate the toys to the La Verne-based Sowing Seeds for Life, a non-profit organization and a Los Angeles Food Bank Agency that offers food packages and other goods to families in need throughout Los Angeles County.
Sowing Seeds for Life will distribute the toys at its fourth Annual “Christmas in the Park” on Dec. 1, 2012, a celebration expected to benefit more than 1,000 local children.
Please bring UNWRAPPED toys for children up to age 16, such as, but not limited to:
1-8 years of age
• Art Supplies
• Action Figures/Dolls
• Fisher Price Toys
• Age appropriate board games
8-16 years of age
• Age appropriate Board games
• Skateboards, scooters, etc.
• Sports Equipment (i.e. football, soccer balls, etc.)
• Food Gift Cards (i.e. In-N-Out, Starbucks, etc.)
Cash Donations will also be accepted and encouraged! Make checks payable to Sowing Seeds for life and memo ‘Toy Drive’.
