Local Companies Light Up Christmas for David & Margaret Youth and Family Services

There is an alarming number of kids in the foster care system and the number is growing. Every day, circumstances change, situations develop and sometimes children are left behind or forgotten. Architectural Area Lighting (AAL) and Kim Lighting wanted to help make this holiday season brighter for children at David & Margaret Youth and Family Services in La Verne, Ca. by collecting toys for disadvantaged children.

Theresa Minehart worked for David & Margaret Youth and Family Services for over four years before moving to AAL. When management at AAL was looking for suggestions for holiday giving, Theresa didn’t hesitate to share the memories concerning David & Margaret’s programs.  Every year AAL and Kim Lighting select a local non-profit to help during the holidays. The office was able to collect over 134 toys within three weeks for the kids in the program. 

At the annual Christmas luncheon, staff gathered to celebrate over a traditional turkey style lunch in recognition of staff appreciation. As staff members gather, everyone took time to recognize the hard work and dedication many men and women dedicate to helping children.
