La Verne Shopaholics: Buy Your Own Jerry Terry Original Yard Sign

As we enter the peak of the holiday shopping and NFL football season, you now have the perfect excuse to pick up one of Jerry Terry’s football helmet yard signs made right here in La Verne.

It doesn’t matter who you’re favorite team is, Jerry’s got it – Pittsburg Steelers, Oakland Rai-duhs, San Diego Chargers. AFC or NFC. For the hometown La Verne crowd, Jerry has specially priced the signs at $15 each or two for $25.

Once you purchase your sign, you can drive the long stake into your lawn or garden and declare your team loyalty for all your neighbors to see.

Jerry, who also works at OSH in La Verne, has been fashioning the football helmets for at least a decade. He also makes a wide range of children’s toys, including marshmallow shooters, ping-pong guns and bows and arrows.

“He’s a workaholic,” said girlfriend Lisa Stein, who lives with Jerry in their White Avenue home, along with Jerry Terry I and Jerry Terry III, a La Verne Little League All-Star.

During the interview, Anna Hernandez of Downey, purchased a popular Oakland Raiders yard sign for a business associate.

Drivers up White Avenue can easily spot the yard signs. Jerry also displays his wares at Jerry’s Wood Magic in Oak Glen, Calif., and at local fairs, shows and swap meets, including the Los Angeles County Fair each year.

Jerry and his girlfriend met at a poker party about five years ago, and like his acrylic sprayed-yard signs, the relationship shows no signs of fading. The relationship’s not perfect, but it’s close: He’s an NFL Giants fan, and Lisa is a 49ers fan, so she holds current house bragging rights after the 49ers beat the Giants last weekend.

But mostly Jerry’s a sports fan, and he can whip up any kind of sports yard sign you want, including signs with MLB and NBA logos. College teams … not a problem. Fight on, USC!
