L&G Enterprises might have built its reputation on tricking out trucks, but in a sign of our gas-sipping times, it’s gaining props in town for taking a 2011 Ford Fiesta and putting it on the social superhighway with its âOh So Sexyâ candy red, jet black and silver exterior and futuristic interior featuring an in-console Apple iPad that connects to Fordâs patented Sync In-car system.
This head-turning hatchback is revolutionizing the way drivers interact with their vehicle and everyone else.
âItâs lot of fun to drive,â said L&Gâs Theresa Contreras, who got to show off the Digital Fiesta at the Special Equipment Manufacturers Show (SEMA) last November in Las Vegas and will do so again at La Verneâs Cool Cruise on Saturday in downtown La Verne.
The hardest part for Theresa is deciding what part of the fuel-efficient (40 mpg highway) car to show off. Sheâs partial to the Fiesta’s easily handling, but itâs hard to overlook the custom Katzkin carbon fiber black leather seats, Realm 6.5â speakers and 600-watt 4 channel amp and 1100 watt mono subwoofer amps in the rear.
âThis is not a grocery-getter,â Theresa said. âThis is a twenties-something vehicle. Thatâs what weâre going for.â
Indeed, the interior feels like a sleek mobile command center, perfect for two passengers to revel down the highway while listening to their favorite mp3s and hooking up with friends on the Internet, all via voice commands or a touch of a button. A call comes in and the music pauses, so the driver literally doesnât have to miss a beat. The call ends, and the music picks up right where it left off.
The Ford Fiesta is a cool car, but L&G couldnât leave well enough alone. The custom paint and body shop thatâs been in business for decades had to go improve it even more. In keeping with Fiestaâs digital theme, L&G burnished the hood with an electronic circuit board. The circuit board looks like notes on a sheet of music, one more testament to the autoâs cool vibe that should attract lot sof oohs and aahs this Saturday at La Verneâs Cool Cruise.
Theresa didnât seem the least bit concerned that the Fiestaâs front bumper was still missing on late Thursday afternoon. L&Gâs auto-body specialists had taken it off to extend the fenders and install slightly larger front tires.
âEverything we do is over the top,â Theresa said. âBut itâll be already by tomorrow afternoon.â
That’s right. Itâs almost show time, and once again L&G is pulling all the stops. This year itâs not just going to be a party for L&G, itâs going to be a FIESTA!
