Lynsey Mikhail gets results.
At the University of La Verne, she played volleyball, missing only one match in four years and amassing a career total of 513 kills in helping her team win a conference title. Her coach at the time, Don Flora, called her âsomeone who would fight, kick and spit playing volleyball.â
Every spring, she also competed in the long jump, triple jump, and the 100 meter dash, also helping the Leopards win a conference crown.
As soon as she graduated, it was no surprise that the La Verne Lutheran Trojans gobbled her up, asking her to be the schoolâs volleyball coach. Not long after, she became Lutheranâs assistant athletic director and then the following year, the high schoolâs athletic director.
How could they resist? Sheâs bubbly, energetic, enthusiastic, and knows her stuff. Itâs no coincidence that the Trojans won the school’s first Southern Section CIF title under her tenure and inspiration.
Now after a decade serving La Verne Lutheran and its students, the busy, married mother of two children is helping an even wider universe of people as a coach for Team Beachbody, a community of health and fitness experts who are dedicated to giving others the tools and support to achieve their weight loss and fitness goals.
While Team Beachbody’s exclusive weight-loss supplement (Shakeology) and P90x fitness  program of workout videos and online support are both outstanding, itâs Lynsey that really rocks. She checks in daily with her clients and keeps them visibly moving toward their health and fitness goals. She walks the walk — and jumps, bounds, springs, skips, somersaults and does whatever else it takes to help her clients, from age 9 to 90, succeed.
Said former student, Katherine Randall. “I’ve known Lynsey since I was 14 as a freshman entering into high school. Lynsey took the job as the head volleyball coach after graduating from the University of La Verne. Her knowledge of the game, her attitude, and words of encouragement inspired me to pursue playing at a collegiate level and also helped pave the way for my journey into playing at a higher level.
âNot only was she a high school volleyball coach to me,” Randall added, “she was a role-model and a mentor and has continued to stay a close friend throughout the years.”
Itâs that role as mentor and private coach that is really now producing results. Sheâs currently looking for a large facility to coach and train even more people to spread not only the message of fitness, but to have people experience the gift of health first hand.
âIâve spent most of my life loving a lifestyle of sports and I enjoy promoting that love athletics, health and fitness to everyone I come in contact with,â Lynsey said.
