Each new year brings with it new beginnings, providing a starting point for what comes next. On Saturday, Jan. 29, the University of La Verne will host a trio of ceremonies recognizing the initial members of the class of 2011 as it celebrates its seventh annual Winter Commencement.
This year’s keynote speakers include Rep. Grace Napolitano (CA-38th District), Chaffey College-Fontana Campus Dean Eric Bishop and Dateline NBC Associate Producer Luz Villarreal. All three ceremonies will be held in the university’s Sports Science & Athletics Pavilion, with scheduled starting times of 9:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
La Verne’s 2011 Winter Commencement honors undergraduate and graduate candidates from the university’s main campus, including those from the Campus Accelerated Program for Adults (CAPA) and students studying at regional campuses and off-campus programs overseen by the Regional Campus Administration (RCA).
Due to limited seating, attendance is restricted to those provided tickets by the graduates or university officials. Campus parking is free, but attendees are advised to arrive at least one hour prior to the scheduled start. Parking on city streets adjacent to the university is regulated and will be enforced as posted. Additional commencement information is available by calling (909) 593-3511 ext. 4765 or online at http://laverne.edu/commencement/winter/.
