Just think of how many miles they’ve logged, and they’re not finished yet.
At the CIF Prelims at Mt.SAC over the weekend, the Bonita girls placed second, earning themselves and Bonita a trip to the CIF Finals on Saturday, Nov. 20.
The combined times of Marrisa Scott (19.22, 7th place), Mikayla Flores (19.24, 9th) and Lexi Jackson (19.54, 16th) catapulted the girls into the CIF Finals, their goal from the outset of the season.
In the boys division, Dillon Nobbs, Bonita’s freshman sensation, checked in at 16.09 to finish 6th. With the time, he also punched his ticket to compete in the CIF Finals.

I would also like to recognize the other varsity runners, Alyssa Canchola, Katie Sedor, Schavonn Johnson, and Diana Wallace, who also did an excellent job at CIF Prelims! It is the top 5 bonita runners of the 7 varsity runners that score for the team which qualifies them to advance. This is also the same for CIF Finals. Any of this information can be varified on the CIF website. WAY TO GO GIRLS!!!! You are only as good as the last runner! Lets go to State:)

Don’t forget that #6 and 7 runners also help bump out other schools. Every runner counts!

Although the team benefits from its top three girls, the real team consists of all of the girls who worked hard all season to be on the varsity team. Congrats to the JV girls for earning the title of Hacienda League Championships. Its a shame that their efforts aren’t mentioned nearly enough…
