Bonita’s hopes of returning to the CIF finals died in the desert on Saturday night as the powerful Palms Springs Indians defeated the Bearcats 3-1 (13-25, 25-20, 25-23 and 25-17).
Bonita started fast, winning the first game 25-13, but once Palm Springs made between-match adjustments, the Indians found their stride and won three straight to dash Bonita’s title hopes. In the end, the Indians’ powerful frontline proved too much for Bonita, which finished the season, 22-5, including 12-0 in Hacienda league play.
