Every second of both games was closely contested
On a cool day at Bonita High School, the AYSO U12 soccer action was fast and furious as the Terminators edged the Phantoms 2-1 and the Kick Bombers downed the Golden Champions 3-2.
In the 10 a.m. contest, the Terminators rode the right foot of Shawn Robinson who kicked two goals for his team, one coming in the first half, the second coming in the second. They proved the difference-makers.
“He’s got speed, and as a club player, he’s on the field a lot getting better all the time,” said Terminators head coach Tim Doonan.
In the 11 a.m. match, it was tough slogging for both teams over a muddy field, with the Kick Bombers finally prevailing. They received goals each from Madeline Heumann, Taylor Gomez and Fernanda (Fernie) Soto. Goal makers for the Golden Champions were Tara Pina and Tatiana Lopez.
