An early-bird crowd of runners and walkers turned out for the 3.1 mile/run walk through La Verne on Saturday morning at Bonita High School, with entrants’ fees going to support the Bearcats’ track and field team and Bonita athletic training programs.
Young and old, and the swift and the slow alike, lined up behind a green and white arch of balloons and awaited the starter’s gun to signal the start of the race.
Before the run, parents, fans and participants could purchase fuel food (pink cupcakes) and tee shirts to help support breast cancer awareness and a cure.
