Your Trash Could Get More Expensive

The La Verne City Council heard a proposal Monday, May 4, to raise recycling and refuse service fees an additional 45 cents to 55 cents a month.

The proposed increase is based on rising prices that the trash service faces, according to a staff report.

The proposed increase would amount to about a 2% increase or a hike of about $6 a year. Residents with large trash cans would pay 55 cents, those with smaller cans would pay a reduced price.
