One mystery has been solved. The beautiful Sheraton Fairplex Conference Center’s California Ballroom will play host to the Notes of Love dinner.

David & Margaret Youth and Family Services will transform the Sheraton Fairplex Conference Center’s California Ballroom into the fictional Hillview High School’s 1953 Fall Formal at its annual Notes of Love Dinner and Silent Auction on Friday, Oct. 12. Someone is trying to kill the dance’s chaperone, Doc Cheever – who doo-wah-doo-wah done it?

The event, which features dinner, a silent auction, a 1950s costume contest, a photo booth and other activities, starts at 6:30 p.m. with a reception. The interactive musical play is performed by the Renaissance Murder Mystery Players, who are known throughout the San Gabriel Valley for their creative dinner theater productions.

Tickets are available online at www.DavidandMargaret.org, by calling (909) 596-5921 x3180, or by email at GriffithJ@DavidandMargaret.org. They are priced at $100 per individual, $150 per couple, $325 per half-table (five people) and $600 per full table. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Proceeds from Notes of Love benefit programs and services at David & Margaret Youth and Family Services.  The La Verne-based agency serves more than 1,000 clients annually through a comprehensive range of services including a residentially-based program for adolescent girls, shelter care for adolescent girls, a foster family agency, adoption assistance, mental health services, family preservation and support, treatment for learning disabilities, a transitional living program, school- and community-based education and mentoring programs.

David & Margaret offers shelter care for adolescents who are picked up in the country without legal documentation and without an accompanying parent/guardian.  Additionally, it has a chemical program that is certified by the State of California for residents who are recovering from substance abuse. The Joan Macy School, a specialized nonpublic on-grounds school, was opened in 1989 and serves agency residents, as well as students referred from surrounding school districts.
