baseballphotoAt Yankee Stadium, you’ll find monuments honoring Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio and Whitey Ford. Outside of the Staples Center, you’ll find a life-size statue of Earvin “Magic” Johnson directing the Lakers’ show time. And now in La Verne, you have  the opportunity to immortalize your Little League player, past or present, with a red brick that will be placed where the flag pole is now.

“We all have great memories at Pelota Park and La Verne Little League, this is just one way to set your family legacy in stone at Pelota Park,” said returning LVLL President Brian Shively

You can purchase a single red 4-inch-by-8-inch brick for $75 by Dec. 31, 2012. From Jan. 1 through Jan. 26, the purchase price is $85. No orders will be processed after Jan. 26.

“By adhering to these dates,” Shively said, “we can have all the bricks engraved, delivered and installed by opening day.”

Brick buyers are limited to three lines of 18 characters per line, including spaces and punctuation marks on a brick. Clip art is available for an additional $10.

Besides making great birthday, Christmas and special occasion gifts, they present companies and corporations with a permanent advertising presence.

“You can make a one-time purchase from your advertising budget,” Shively said, “and your brick is there permanently. There are no annual renewal fees or additional costs involved. When you are buying a brick you are giving back to the community and supporting the league’s future.”

Corporate bricks cost $150 if purchased by Dec. 31, and $160 in 2013. A separate order form, obtainable by emailing lvllpres@hotmail.com, is required for each corporate order.

Order forms can be picked up at any La Verne Little registration date and site. You can also print them out from the La Verne Little League web site at lavernelittleleague.com or via email at lvllpres@hotmail.com.

Mail your order forms to La Verne Little League, PO Box 701, La Verne, CA 91750 – Attention: Brick Project.

Space is limited, so Shively had one last thing to say: “Claim your spot now!”
