This 2 hour workshop will give you information and simple home-based exercises to do that will assist with maintaining proper alignment of the spine sitting and standing, gait patterns, stabilization and balance of the body. Are you finding that your balance is not what it used to be? Are you weight bearing more on one side than the other? Harder to get up from the couch or a chair? Tough to roll out of bed in the morning? Your legs are quivering when you get to the top of the staircase? This workshop is for you! Cost: $40/person.

64th Annual Cameilla Show

This is a two-day event.  Placement of blooms for judging will be Saturday, February 19, from 6:00 AM to 10:30 AM.  Judging will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.  The show is open to the public on Saturday, February 19, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, February 20, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.  A complete description of this two-day event is available by calling (909) 596-8776.

2nd ANNUAL COMMUNITY YARD SALE

Bonita High School

The La Verne Chamber of Commerce, the City of Laverne and Bonita High School will be hosting the 2nd annual Community Yard Sale on Saturday March 5th from 8:00am to 1:00pm in the Bonita High School Parking Lot.

The cost of renting a space is $25 and applications are available on line at www.ci.la-verne.ca.us  or pick up an application at City Hall or the Chamber office at 2078 Bonita Avenue, La Verne or call 909- 593-5265.  There is no license or permit required.

“One Man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” So plan to come by and find that “one of a kind item”. Admission and Parking are free, so come early and enjoy the day.

International Festival of Sacred Music, 7 p.m.

The Meeting House at Hillcrest, 2705 Mountain View Drive

University of La Verne’s new Choral Director, Dr. James Calhoun, and the La Verne Church of the Brethren (LVCOB)Sanctuary Choir have been invited to participate in the Interfaith Festival of Sacred Music being hosted by the Cultural Arts Society of La Verne.  Inspired by the Fez (Morocco) Festival of World Sacred Music, this festival will build on the transcendent power of music and the power of spirituality to provide a totally rejuvenating experience for those in attendance.  Scheduled for Saturday, March 5, in The Meeting House at Hillcrest, 2708 Mountain View Drive in La Verne, all are encouraged to attend this musical celebration of the spirit.  Tickets can be purchased at The Meeting House or at the door. Adults are $10 and children 12 years or under, free.

Children’s Disaster Services Volunteer Workshop

Church of the Brethren

The two-day workshop, which includes registration, materials, meals and overnight accommodations at the church, trains volunteers to understand and respond to children who have experienced a disaster. Participants will experience a simulated shelter, sleeping oncots and eating simple meals. Once training is completed, participants can become certified Children’s Disaster Services volunteers. Spring Time Outdoors Craft Fair on April 9

The Boy Scouts Troop 411 will be hosting a Spring Time Outdoors Craft Fair on April 9 across the street from Bonita High School on D street in LaVerne. Proceeds will be going to help defray costs of our boys going to summer camp in Idaho and Yellow Stone National Park this summer. The cost to vendors to rent a booth start at only $25 for the day. There will be lots of great arts and crafts, food, prizes and entertainment. Vendor applications need to be turn in and paid for by March 15th.
