The events are part of the nationwide celebration of Catholic education during the week of January 29 to February 3.  This year’s theme is “Catholic Schools: Faith, Academics, Service.”  The theme expresses Catholic Schools’ focus on learning about faith, striving for high academic standards, and serving the community.

Catholic Schools Week begins on Sunday, Jan. 29 with a mass at 10 a.m., where students will be in the procession and serve as greeters, altar servers, and lectors.  A video about Catholic Education will play as well.  Students will be in uniform and parents will be wearing their Holy Name of Mary wear as well.  Students will give the gift of prayer to the parishioners.  Prayer requests can be placed in the collection baskets during mass.

Monday, Jan. 30 will celebrate “Faith. Academics. Service: in the Community”.  Students will participate in the Pennies for Patients Program. There will be a school wide assembly at 2:30 p.m.

Holy Name of Mary School invites prospective students, their families, and community residents to visit on Tuesday, Jan. 31, during the Open House.  An informational session for new families will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Faculty Room.  The Open House hours are from 7 p.m.  to 8:30 p.m. and will include an Art Fair, a Science Fair, and a book fair. The 4th grade Mission Projects will also be on display.

DISOVERY DAY is being held on Wednesday, Feb. 1 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., which celebrates “Faith. Academics. On Thursday, Feb. 2, Holy Name of Mary will celebrate “Faith. Academics. Service: In Our Nation and in Our Faculty.”  The morning assembly will include a flag raising ceremony.  Current and retired military are invited to come.  Pictures of those serving in the military are also welcome.  A staff appreciation luncheon will also be held this day.

Special Persons Day is on Friday, Feb.  3.  Students are invited to bring a guest with them to school.  Guests will attend mass with the students, go into the children’s classroom, and enjoy lunch and games sponsored by the 7th grade.
