Velocity Handbell Ensemble

Church of the Brethren, Bonita and E St.

Joel Gingrich, son of John and Jacki Gingrich of La Verne, is one of the four ringers in this group.  Velocity has continually astounded its audiences, first with its ability to play up to six octaves of handbells with six ringers, and more recently up to five octaves with only four ringers. Their program is called Rhythm and Bells.  Beginning with no rhythm in a Gregorian chant and moving through Bach, Joplin, reggae, tango, jazz/rock and blues/dance music, we witness the evolution of rhythm – on bells, of course!  The Velocity Handbell Ensemble astounded us with their music several years ago.  A Velocity concert is definitely more than just a concert – it is an experience.
