If Mayor Don Kendrick drove to Monday’s city council meeting, his car should be safe and secure with La Verne police officers David Weaver, left, and Carlos Flores on duty at City Hall.

LA VERNE, December 19, 2017 — If you think you can drive a stolen vehicle through La Verne with impunity, you better think twice — especially if La Verne police officers David Weaver and Carlos Flores are on duty.

Between May 18, 2016 and March 7, 2017, Weaver recovered six stolen vehicles resulting in the arrests and prosecution of seven suspects.

And between Oct. 29, 2016 and June 18, 2017, Flores recovered six occupied stolen vehicles leading to the arrests and prosecution of 10 suspects.

“When you add those up, you have 17 people who have been arrested and are now serving time and are no longer in our city,” La Verne Mayor Don Kendrick said, honoring each officer with a California Highway Patrol Recovered Stolen Vehicle award at Monday’s city council meeting.

The Statewide award program is named after the California Vehicle Code Section for vehicle theft, 10851, and covers a 12-month period.

One Response to “LVPD Officers Weaver and Flores Slam the Door on Stolen Car Thieves”

  1. Were any of these stolen vehicles stolen from LA Verne? Or were they all just found here in our city? And thank you LVPD for always keeping LA Verne safe. Another way to keep the residents informed on issues like this so we can keep our eyes out for any suspicious activity on our days and nights on our journey thruout our city .also do you have a non emergency contact phone number or web site to report strange activity in our neighborhoods? Thank you and thank you so much for taking the time and putting your full efforts to get a lost dog home by posting their pictures! The city of LA Verne is the only police department I know of that puts forth their time and effort to get our loft pets back to their family’s .i am sure other police departments do similar things . But it sure makes me feel good that LA Verne police department cares enough for our lost dog and for worried owners. Thnx LVPD
