The La Verne Softball Association played host to a full slate of games on Saturday.
Maybe the most impressive display was the outing by the 8-U Blazin’ Batz, who throttled San Dimas 13-0. Shady Armedariz was magnificent inside the circle, striking out batter after batter. She got plenty of offensive support from her teammates, including a triple and two-run double by Sadie Ryan, a single by Beau Rodriguez, and four walks by Breanna Orosco. Armendariz also helped her own cause with a triple. The Blazin Batz are still undefeated this season.
In a 10-U contest, the LVGSA Royals edged the San Dimas Storm 4-3. Hitting stars included Mia Tyler and Hailey Ortiz. Jordan Goluskin and Ariel Rico pitched superbly while getting great defensive support from Mattie Mikesell.
The 12-U LVGSA Blues Clues also had their way on Saturday, cruising to a 17-0 win over Rowland Heights. Hitting heroes (heroines) included Karissa who hit a three-run home and Natalie who blasted a two-run shot. Hanna was also perfect on the afternoon with two singles and a walk. Giavanna, Bailey and Summer also collected singles.
The only blemish on an otherwise perfect afternoon for La Verne softball was a 9-1 loss by the 10-U Blurrz, but the memory of that will just be a blur come next week when the La Verne Softball Association offers up another weekend of great softball action.
