Weight Watchers' JoJo Treadwell and Carol-Lee Marshall are hosting a housewarming this Saturday, and you're invited.

New Years Eve celebrations may be over, but the party is just getting started in La Verne,

On Saturday, Jan. 14, Weight Watchers in La Verne is holding a huge all-day housewarming party and you’re invited to enjoy refreshments, prizes, raffles, special recipes and more.

“We just want to bring the community in to see all the exciting changes we’ve made,” said Weight Watchers team leader Carol-Lee Marshall.

The weight-loss center, recently named the best diet plan by U.S. News and World Report, has been completely updated and renovated.

“The store is gorgeous,” added JoJo Treadwell, Weight Watchers project manager. “It’s bright, beautiful, lovely and electronic. Everything has been updated.”

According to Treadwell, “Weight Watchers is bursting at the seams,” no pun intended, with regard to its expanding membership. Company spokespeople include actress, singer and former American Idol sensation Jennifer Hudson and also the once “Round Mound of Rebound” Charles Barkley. The former NBA star and current TNT commentator has lost 50 pounds on Weight Watchers toward his goal of losing 100 pounds.

On Saturday, the public will be invited to hear success stories of local La Vernians. While there will be plenty of free snacks on hand, they’ll be from the power food groups, so no will have to feel guilty about noshing on them.

Weight Watchers is open seven days a week. Team Leaders conduct daily meetings centered on relevant weight-loss themes and goals, such as maintaining a healthy lifestyle through the holidays and getting the New Year off to a healthy start.

“The meetings are filled with education, inspiration, motivation, as well as accountability,” said Marshall, who like Treadwell and every Weight Watchers manager is an Weight Watchers participant. Members share their strategies and best practices for not only losing weight, but also keeping the pounds off.
