Halloween is coming!  Looking for something special to do this year with your family that is safe and fun?  Something you will always be glad you did?   The Cultural Arts Society of La Verne has the perfect answer!   Saturday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m., The Meeting House at Hillcrest (2705 Mountain View Drive, La Verne) will open its doors to goblins and ghosts of all ages for a theatrical and musical global adventure.

Storyteller, Ina Buckner-Barnette and “Chazz” Ross, Master percussionist will intertwine exciting folktales, songs, and sound plus movement games with the playing of twenty Djembe drums.  Chazz and Ina will demonstrate key drumming patterns that audience participants can use to assist in the performing of the stories and songs from around the globe.   This interactive program is pure performing arts fun!  (Don’t tell the kids—this program meets the California Educational Standards in the Performing Arts!)  Grandparents, this is a great program to treat your grandkids to (and their parents)!

Everyone is invited to wear a costume and join in a parade of costumed characters.   A parade always needs an audience, so if you prefer not to wear a costume, that’s OK too.   After the program, everyone will receive a Halloween goodie bag to take home and enjoy!  Children 14 and under are free and must be accompanied by an adult.  Adult general admission is $10.  Preferred seating is $15. (Children 14 and under may sit up front near  the performers on carpeting.)  Tickets can be purchased on line at www.LivingatHillcrest.org, or in the lobby of the Meeting House Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 4:30 PM.  For additional information, please call Carmen at (909)593-4917X”0”.
