The Bonita High School Instrumental Music Program will hold its annual Spring Concert and Barbeque on Monday, June 1, 2009 at 6 pm. The event will be held on the front lawn of Bonita High School, 3102 “D” Street, La Verne, California, 91750, and is free to the public.
The entertainment will highlight and review the broad sweep of performances by all the Bonita High School Instrumental Music programs and Color Guard. The Symphonic and Jazz Bands participated in the 2009 San Diego National Heritage Music Festival and each placed SILVER. The Drum Line will perform its award-winning routine from the rock band “Dream Theater.” This routine was so good that the American Drum Line Association upgraded its status from Scholastic B division to Scholastic A division. Additionally, the Color Guard will be performing its well-received “Nightmare Before Christmas” routine.
It has been a year of hard work and commitment by all the students and their dedicated band director, Mr. Jeff Bird. Congratulations to him and these outstanding young men and women for a tremendous season!
There will be a home-style barbeque starting at 5 p.m. with a choice of a mouth-watering jumbo hotdog, sirloin burger or meatball sandwich with all the fixins, chips and drink for $5 – the best deal in town. Other tasty treats will also be available to satisfy the sweet tooth.
Parents, friends, music aficionados and the community are invited to attend so come early for a good seat and good EATS. Bring your chairs and blankets to spread on the lawn and enjoy a great outdoor event with wonderful entertainment and delicious barbeque.
